Sliced ham off the bone
This is not so much a recipe as a recommendation to find a good local butcher and put in an order for your Christmas ham. My local butcher bakes his own hams year round and sells it by the slice at a price, and indeed quality, better than the supermarkets.
The last few years I have just bought a kilogram of sliced ham off the bone rather than a whole leg - avoids the hassle of keeping ham bags dampened, fighting with that yucky flap of fat and finding interesting things to do with leftover ham!
- 18 generous slices of ham off the bone
Serve on a platter, garnish with some flat-leaf parsley and serve with small bowls of Dijon mustard and wholegrain mustard.
