Meet The One

Packed full of the goodness that parents look for in wholemeal bread, but with a great taste kids enjoy, Tip Top The One is ready to make mums day easier with one bread the whole family will love.

Finding foods that the whole family enjoys can be quite a challenge. Especially when you want to ensure that what they're eating is also nutritionally balanced. That's why Tip Top Bakery made sure that mums were key in the development of their new bread. Focus groups were asked for their ideas about the “ultimate” white sliced loaf for their family. Their answers included: plenty of fibre, vitamins and minerals, no artificial preservatives, colours or flavours, and low GI.

Tip Top Bakery's new bread, The One, in two variants of Sandwich and Toast, provides all of this goodness and more. Produced directly in response to the demands of modern mums, it’s the first nutritionally complete white bread, defined as white bread with vitamins and minerals, high fibre and lower GI than regular white bread.

Fibre - how does The One compare?

You may be surprised to learn that two slices of The One has more fibre than two wheat biscuits! The table below shows you how The One compares to other fibre-rich foods.

GI Index - what does it mean?

The Glycaemic Index (GI) is a system that ranks carbohydrate containing foods from 1-100, according to the rate at which they are broken down and absorbed into the bloodstream. Foods that are broken down slowly are considered to be low GI and foods that are broken down and absorbed quickly are high GI.

GI rankings:

  • Low 0-55

  • Moderate 55-69

  • High 70-100

You'll feel fuller for longer and will have an easier time managing your hunger consuming foods that have lower GI rankings.

The One Bread is rated as medium GI (67), compared to regular white breads which are typcially rated as HiIGH (>70). Reference: Shoppers Guid to GI Values 2011.
