Alphabet peg dolls

Alphabet peg dolls

Hands on learning helps kids retain information better.  Make your own alphabet peg dolls with your child and then see how many words you can spell out together for a sneaky spelling game.

What you need:

  • 1 x packet of dolly pegs
  • paints
  • paint brush
  • masking tape

Number of players:

Activity:

Before you start painting your peg dolls, put a piece of tape around the upper middle of the peg.  Now you can paint freely and when you take the tape off there will be a blank space to write each letter of the alphabet.

Paint each peg, give them faces and a bit of personality.  Put a letter of the alphabet on each one.

When you're done, see how many words you can spell out using your alphabet pegs.

Tips and hints:

Put them in a resealable bag and keep them in a travel bag for times when you need your child to keep still for a while; car trips, doctor's appointments etc.
