Christmas cookie decorating

Christmas time usually means loads of home cooking, fun in the kitchen and creative projects to keep the kids busy while parents are running around getting prepared for the big day. So why not include the kids in some of the kitchen madness? They will love this easy and no fuss cooking project that allows them to contribute to Christmas day.

What you need:

• Plain biscuits or homemade biscuits
• Various colours of icing
• Sprinkles, Hundreds and Thousands, nuts and other decorations
• Wooden ice cream sticks

Activity:

Place the icing in individual bowls so the kids can easily reach them.

Lay out the biscuits on a sheet of baking paper or aluminium foil to minimise the mess.

Let the kids choose the colours and patterns they want make as they spread the icing using wooden ice cream sticks or plastic butter knives.

Once finished, plate up their creations for all to admire and eat.
