How to make bread dough

Kid`s art and crafts can provide hours of fun for parents and children. Making bread dough is a fun and useful craft for your children. They will love to paint their bread dough once its been cooked.

What you need:

• 1 cup plain flour
• 1/2 cup salt
• 1/4 cup water
• 1 tbsp oil

Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.

Make a well in the centre and gradually pour in the water and oil.

Knead the mixture until the dough is smooth, you can add extra water to make it smoother if needed.

Mould into shapes or cut with cutters.

Place shapes on a baking tray and bake for one hour in a low oven.

Once cool, the shapes can be painted and varnished when dry.

The thinner the shapes, the quicker they will dry.
