Make a chocolate ripple cake

School holiday activities can be as easy as staying home and taking on a simple kids' cooking project. Get your kids up at the bench to make this simple but scrumptious chocolate ripple cake.

What you need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 x packet of Arnott's chocolate ripple biscuits
  • 500ml thickened cream
  • 1  tsp caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tbs sprinkles

Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • hand beaters
  • medium sized platter
  • spatula or spreading knife

Pour 500ml of cream into the mixing bowl.

Add the sugar and vanilla essence.

Beat the cream until it's thick and stiff.

Spread a base of cream onto the serving platter (to help keep your biscuits upright)

Take one biscuit, spread it with cream and sandwich a second biscuit to the cream side.

Keep going like that until you have a log of biscuits sandwiched together with cream.

Cover the log with cream.

Decorate with sprinkles.

Refrigerate for at least six hours (overnight is best)

When it's ready, slice it on the diagonal so you get the striped pattern on each piece.
