Make newspaper tea party hats

Make newspaper tea party hats

Making tea party hats out of newspaper is an easy craft activity and a fun dress up game that will inspire hours of imaginary play and tea party games.

What you need:

  • 1 x double sheet of newspaper (broadsheet works best)
  • masking tape
  • flowers (fresh from the garden or fake from the craft shop)
  • ribbon and tulle (to embellish your hat)

Activity:

Place the centre of the newspaper sheet onto the top of your child's head.

Use the masking tape to tape around the circumference of your child's head to make the main headpiece part of the hat. The overhanging newspaper will form the brim.

Once you've taped it in place, scrunch up the overhanging bits to form a brim.

Now decorate your hat with fresh flowers from the garden, ribbon, tulle and anything else you can dream up!

Set up a tea party and have high tea with your tea party hats on!
