The trapdoor pinata

The trapdoor pinata

Love the idea of the pinata, but don’t have the space, or are worried about kids getting hurt? Try a trapdoor pinata game instead that is just as fun as the traditional version.

What you need:

  • Pinata

Activity:

If you do not have the space to play the traditional version of the pinata game, or if you would prefer that the children play non-aggressive games, playing the pinata game with a pull pinata is an excellent kid birthday game that can be played indoors.

Pull pinatas are similar to traditional pinatas in that they can be just as colorful and festive-looking, they are filled with candy, toys, and confetti, and they are also meant to be hung.

Pull pinatas are different from traditional pinatas in that they have a “secret” trapdoor, and they also have 20 to 30 ribbons hanging from the bottom of the pinata for guests to take turns pulling.

One by one each guest chooses a ribbon to pull. Only one of these ribbons is attached to the trapdoor, so when it is pulled, the trapdoor opens and the goodies fall out.
