Head circumference
Measurement around the head of the developing fetus.
High-risk pregnancy
High-risk pregnancies, due to complication with either the mother or developing fetus, require more frequent prenatal checkups and may necessitate additional monitoring, testing and treatment.
Hormones
Chemical substances that are produced by the endocrine glands and that have specific regulatory effects on the activity of certain organs. Some hormones related to pregnancy include progesterone and estrogen.
Hypoxia
An insufficient oxygen supply to the fetus.
