How to turn a plain polo shirt into a school uniform shirt
School shirts are horribly expensive and when one comes home with a splodgy stain that no manner of soaking will shift, it's a pain and an expensive pain at that. So here's the plan. Plenty of shops sell cheapo polo shirts for a couple of bucks. Pick up a couple and transform them into 'official' school uniform shirts with the aid of an iron and some trickery. It's true magic that only a mum will appreciate. These simple instructions and the easy video tutorial will make you wonder why you ever splurged on uniforms. Watch, learn and enjoy.
You will need:
- iron-on hemming tape
- 1 x new polo shirt
- 1 x old school polo shirt with emblem
Let the polo shirt magic begin
Cut the emblem off the old shirt. Trim and press it with the iron.
Cut hemming tape to size. You'll need more than one strip to cover the back of the emblem.
Get the new plain polo shirt and position the emblem in the right place.
Press the emblem into place with the iron until the hemming tape has stuck it down firmly.
Voilá! A new school shirt for a fraction of the price.
