Apple puree
After rice cereal, fruit purees are baby's next step in new taste sensations. Naturally sweet, apple puree is easy to make and healthy for your baby, either by itself or mixed into rice cereal.
Apple puree

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 cups water

Method

In a saucepan, bring apples and water to the boil.

Simmer for 10 minutes until the apples are very soft.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.

Puree using a stick or conventional blender until smooth or alternately push through a sieve.

Notes

  • I used Pink Lady apples for this recipe but Delicious apples would be sweeter.
  • This puree can be frozen into clean covered ice cube tray for easy portions.
