Construct a cereal box television
There's a new show on the tube and your child is the star. He'll love being the celebrity when he creates cereal box television. Use the television as a frame for your artwork and show it off in style!

What you need:
- cereal box
- recycled wrapping paper (or coloured paper)
- scissors
- glue
- knife
- several sheets of A4 paper
- pencils and crayons
- tape
Activity:
The cereal box should already have the top opened from when the cereal was removed, so cut the remaining flaps off.
Using the knife, cut a slit on the front of the cereal box that is 5cm from the top of the box and ends 5cm before the base of the box.
From the beginning of the slit cut across 7cm toward the left.
From the base of the slit, cut 7cm toward the left. Fold back the flap you have cut to create a door for the television.
Repeat the same to the right side of the box to create another door.
From the beginning of the original slit (down the middle of the box), cut 7cm toward the right.
From the base of the slit, cut 7cm toward the right.
Bend back the flap, creating a fold that will provide another door for the television.
Collage recycled wrapping paper, using scissors and glue, to the outside of the television.
Next, get your child to illustrate some scenarios or images for the television using the A4 paper, pencils and crayons.
Cut out a short rectangle tab of paper to tape to the top of the images.
This will provide an easy way for the image to be slotted in and removed from the cereal box frame of the television.
