Dry sand play
Sometimes the best activities are the simplest. Your child will enjoy playing in the backyard sandpit or at the beach with these ideas for dry sand play.
What you need:
- Sand
- Buckets
- Scoops
- Sieve
- Plastic bottles
- Plastic spoons
Activity:
Before playing with the materials, let your child play in the sand with just their hands, enjoying the sensation of dry sand running through their fingers.
After a short time, introduce the various sandpit toys one at a time and show your child how they work.
You could dig a hole with the scope and then fill it up again by pouring bottles of sand into it.
You could also create castles and sand mountains with the sand.
