Five adorable Mother’s Day cards for your child to make
Mother’s Day. It’s SUCH a lovely day. You get to eat burnt toast, drink cold tea and nibble stale biscuits from the Mother’s Day stall. CUTE. Okay. It’s not totally cute, but the essence of it is cute. What is lacking on quality is totally made up for in love and finesse.
It’s always a good idea to get a headstart on Mother’s Day. What you need to do is print these cute Mother’s Day card how-tos out and leave them around the house for the people who are NOT mothers to find. Print out lots. Leave them at grandparent’s homes, under the pillows of other adults, in the cars of dear friends. Maybe they can take a hint and you’ll get a really cute homemade surprise on your (our) big day?!
If they are STILL not taking the hint, have a kid/mum crafternoon and help each other’s children to make secret cards. THAT is a win/win idea, don’t you think? I am genius!
Cute little hands, with an accordion of paper between them. Not too tricky and super adorable. I vote YES for this one. Hands up if you agree!
This one needs a sewing machine and some fabric scraps. You can cut out letters, or just cut out simple shapes. Or you could even make this super abstract and snip random bits and bobs. If you don’t have a sewing machine, just use fabric glue! Of course, when I say YOU, I mean your child!
This is the cutest thing I have ever seen! A tulip card is the perfect card for me. If someone doesn’t make me this, I shall make one myself! (This comes with a printable pattern to make things super easy.)
This card is made from thick cardboard and it’s BIG! The tissue paper flower is a cute pop-up surprise for any florally mama. And it’s all finished off with some curling ribbon. Cute AND fancy!
I used to go NUTS for this kind of thing as a child. There is something a teensy bit magical about stained glass. This cute project combines the secret technique of using oil pastels and a quick brush of cooking oil for really cool results. Mums love this stuff!
