Five super cute paper plate crafts
The thing about kids' craft is, it doesn't have to be Pinterest quality. In fact, with small children, the simpler and more wonky the craft, the better. And paper plates are a great starting point for some really simple crafty stuff that small children will love.
If you haven't googled "paper plate crafts" you haven't lived. I googled paper plate crafts and could barely choose from all the great ideas that popped up. But choose I did and I have compiled them here.
Five of the cutest paper plate crafts to try out with your kids
Choose one, or choose them all. If you are feeling extra craftalicious, you could set up the table with glue, pompoms, googly eyes, coloured construction paper, scissors and paints and see what your kids come up with. These crafts below need only be a guide to get your child's creative juices flowing.
It's amazing how many things you can see in a paper plate once you get started.
1. Paper plate sun
This one requires the most fussing about, with paints and scissors, but it's a cheery conclusion to a day spent with paints and glue.
2. Paper plate clown
Use bigger pom poms for smaller, less dexterous hands, it might make it easier. But the colourful clown wig is an ingenious usage of the humble crafter's pom pom don't you think?
3. Paper plate dove
This paper plate dove is so inventively simple you will wonder why you never saw a bird in your plate before! It also makes a great Christmas craft, referencing the dove of peace.
4. Paper plate pirate
Pirates are fun, because they're naughty and they wear a jaunty headscarf. Don't forget the eye patch and the cheeky grin.
5. Paper plate snowman
In lieu of making a real snowman, you can get into the winter spirit or the Christmas spirit by making a paper plate snowman. This one is "a two-plater," as we say in the professional world of paper plate crafting.
