How about using the bleaching power of the sun to create a "painting". Simply arrange pretty-shaped leaves, kids handprint copies, puzzle pieces or small, flattish objects like keys on a dark-coloured piece of paper and leave in the sun!
Number of players:
What you need:
- dark coloured construction paper
- natural objects such as leaves, twigs, pinecones
- household objects such as scissors, keys and old cutlery
Place the dark-coloured construction paper outside somewhere in the direct sunlight.
Give your child the freedom to arrange the opaque objects in any way they like on the paper.
Leave the objects to sit for at least two hours in the sun, the paper will be bleached by the sunlight and the objects' outlines will appear "painted" on the paper.
Remove the objects to discover what the sun has painted.
The sun creates a blueprint silhouette of an object. It’s just like developing your own images with the sun and water and it’s lots of fun. It looks great as art with pretty-shaped leaves, kids handprint copies, puzzle pieces or small, flattish objects like keys.
