Balloon animals: dragonfly, bee or bird
Balloon animals are a fun party game or easy magic trick for kids to learn. This simple dragonfly balloon animal can also be a wasp, bee or bird, depending on how you look at it.
What you need:
- 1 x balloon inflated to 80cm
Inflate your balloon to 80cm.
At the knot end, twist a 5cm bubble.
At the tail end twist a 6cm bubble.
Bend the entire length of the balloon over so that you can lock twist the knot end twist and the tail end twists together. You should now have a large loop (see video).
Halfway around this loop, nip the balloon between your thumb and first finger and lock twist it to the neck (see video).
This is the point where it can become a wasp, bee, bird or dragonfly depending on how you proceed from here.
Wasp or bee:
Draw the face at the knot end and add some stripes to the body.
Draw a face at the pointed end so that the uninflated tail becomes the beak)
Draw the face at the knot end, but squeeze some air into the uninflated tail bit to become the dragonfly's tapered tail.
