Make Halloween face paints
White, red and black face paint is essential to any ghoulish Halloween outfit. You can create many homemade Halloween dress ups with this homemade face paint recipe.
What you need:
For the base of each colour you need:
- 2 x tbsp cornflour
- 1 tbsp cold cream
- 1 tbsp cold water
- red food colouring
- black food colouring
Mix ingredients together then add food colouring for the red and black colours. Leave the white as is. It will make a good base for any spooky Halloween face.
Wash face and dry thoroughly. Apply a base coat of the white mixture first. Once that's done, apply the colours.
When you've finished your face design, use a makeup sponge to pat some extra cornflour over the white parts to make them really flat white and spooky!
Hints and tips:
- Green is also a good Halloween colour. You can paint a good zombie face with green, red, white and black face paints.
- Black and white face paints also make a good skull face.
- Search the internet for spooky faces to copy with your Halloween face paints. The Joker from Batman is another good one.
- As with any new product being applied to your child's skin, rub a small amount of the face paint on their skin to check for reaction before applying.
