Orana Wildlife Park
You can experience the ultimate animal adventure at Orana Wildlife Park! Set in 80 hectares of park-like grounds, Orana is New Zealand's only open range zoo! The Park specialises in getting visitors up close with endangered animals: see New Zealand's only gorillas, hand feed giraffe, meet 'face-to-face' up close, travel through the Lion Habitat (additional cost and conditions apply).
Scheduled animal feeds occur regularly thorughout the day. Visitors can enjoy the antics of tigers, cheetah, Tasmanian devils, monkeys, meerkats and more.
The Park has an extensive native fauna section enabling you to see the diversity of New Zealand's special wildlife. Observe kiwi, New Zealand's national icon as well as a wide range of endemic birds and reptiles. Meet michievous kea in a walk-through aviary. The Park has one of the most comprehensive public collections of native geckos.
The Farmyard enables visitors of all ages to interact with a range of friendly domestic animals.
Guided tours occur daily. Visitors can join a walkabout tour and follow the animal feed schedule or tour the Park on a Safari Shuttle.
We open every day except Christmas Day from 10am to 5pm.
We look forward to seeing you and introducing you to the animals! There is something to entertain everyone for the entire day at Orana Wildlife Park.
