Capital E is igniting the creative spark in young people of all ages these school holidays.
Drop in to E Central from 7 April to 2 May and discover Rebuild: an old ruin filled with the debris of everyday life. Hidden within this ruin is an amazing assortment of supplies and materials; what could you do with this exciting discovery? Build dens, draw pictures, create, play, discover and transform the space in this interactive installation from Imaginarium. Rebuild is suitable for all ages and entry is free.
For 2-7 year olds, Capital E National Theatre for Children presents Kiwi Moon, a new production of Gavin Bishop’s iconic New Zealand story. Snuffle and shuffle through the forest floor in this charming tale of one little white kiwi's quest to find his place in an often strange and sometimes dangerous world. Kiwi Moon is showing 11am, Monday to Saturday 4 – 18 April at Hannah Playhouse, 12 Cambridge Terrace with a 2pm performance on 4 April. $12.50 per person, under-2s are free and group rates available.
Children 8 years and up will love to get their hands on Capital E's creative technology. MediaLab is hosting 2D Game Design, a three-day workshop where kids will work with Gamefroot's software developers to create their very own game. The OnTV Studio is presenting Zombiewatch, a one-day workshop where children will be broadcasting from the heart of the Zombie apocalypse. Check www.capitale.org.nz for dates and prices.
