Monster pitas recipe
Bored of sandwiches? Your little monsters will love this fun take on a lunch box treat - pitas packed with goodness they'll be itching to take a bite out of!
Egg free, Nut free
- 2 wholemeal pita pockets
- 2 slices leg ham
- 1/2 cup (40g) grated cheese
- 1 cup alfalfa sprouts
Cut small triangles out of the side of each pita bread, ta da, you have monster fangs. Stuff with the ham, cheese and sprouts, wrap in plastic wrap. Lunch done.
- Fill with anything that you know your kids will eat (I am pushing it with the sprouts). Grated carrot, cucumber strips, shredded iceberg lettuce, ricotta, cottage cheese, tuna, diced chicken and egg would all work well.
- Also yummy toasted.
