Egg custard recipe
A very simple egg custard recipe that is suitable for babies and much nicer than commercial baby food. Find more on Kidspot New Zealand
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp honey
- A touch of vanilla
Whisk all ingredients together.
Stir over a very low heat until the custard coats the back of a spoon.
Remove from pan as it will continue to cook.
- Egg yolk can be introduced to your baby by about eight months, but egg white is usually delayed until nine to 12 months in case of allergic reactions.
- I have also made an unsweetened version of this custard and it was quite nice.
- Please note that this has honey in it and if you think your baby is too young for honey, a touch of white sugar may suffice.
