Caramel topping recipe
This easy caramel topping is perfect on sundaes, ice-cream and pancakes. You can make it ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator for when you need something sweet.
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups thickened cream
Place all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring all the time until the sugar dissolves.
Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often until nice semi-thick consistency is reached.
