Low fat banana cake recipe
- 4 bananas, peeled and mashed
- 2 cups plain flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp bicarbonate soda
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup applesauce
- 3 egg whites
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 180°C. Coat the baking pan in canola spray and set aside.
In a bowl mix the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate soda and cinnamon.
In a second bowl, mix the mashed banana, apple sauce, egg whites and vanilla.
Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until combined.
Pour the mixture into the cake pan and bake for 50-60 minutes.
This recipe is great when it is served warm with light cream cheese spread on the slices.
