Low-fat gravy recipe
This is a great low fat gravy that is perfect poured over chicken or turkey slices. Find more on Kidspot, New Zealand's recipe finder.
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- white pepper
In a small saucepan, saute the onion and mushroom in a splash of the chicken stock until the onion is translucent.
Stir the cornflour into the remaining stock. Add to the pan and stir until thickened.
Add some pepper to taste.
- This is a great low fat alternative to gravies and sauces that are made using pan drippings. It still gives you a nice sauce to moisten your chicken or turkey with but without the added fat.
