Madeira cake recipe
- 125g butter, softened
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups self-raising flour
- 1/2 cup milk
Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a loaf tin with baking paper.
In a bowl, using a mixer cream the butter and sugar and add the vanilla.
Add the eggs one at a time mixing well with the milk.
Add the flour and mix for 2 minutes.
Pour into loaf tin and bake for 50-55 minutes.
- This golden cake is a great lunchbox filler.
