Beef Bourguignon Pies recipe

Beef Bourguignon is a fancy way of saying beef and mushroom pies. This easy version looks fancy and is perfect for dinner parties. Find more on Kidspot New Zealand's recipe finder.

  • 6 cups beef bourguignon
  • 6 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry, defrosted
  • 1 egg yolk

Preheat oven to 200°C.

Take 6 x 1 cup capacity bowls and fill each with the beef bourguignon.

Cut circles of pastry large enough so that you have a 2cm overhang all around your bowl.

Place pastry over the top. Press the pastry firmly around the sides to give a tight seal.

Brush with a beaten egg yolk. Bake for 20 minutes. Stop about halfway through the cooking to poke a hole in the pastry with a sharp knife.

  • Be careful with this filling. It will be burning hot.
  • I like to cut little decorative leaves out of the leftover pastry to decorate the tops of the pies.
