Roasted pumpkin puree recipe

Roasted pumpkin puree is a great first food for babies and you can freeze it into convenient cubes to have ready for when baby is hungry. Find more on Kidspot New Zealand.



  • 1 butternut pumpkin
  • 2 tbsp olive oil


Preheat oven to 180°C.

Slice pumpkin in half and drizzle with olive oil.

Place on a tray and bake for 45-50 minutes.

Remove from oven and leave to cool for 5 minutes.

Scoop out pumkin flesh with a spoon.

Mash with a fork or puree with a stick blender.
