Roasted pumpkin puree recipe
- 1 butternut pumpkin
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Slice pumpkin in half and drizzle with olive oil.
Place on a tray and bake for 45-50 minutes.
Remove from oven and leave to cool for 5 minutes.
Scoop out pumkin flesh with a spoon.
Mash with a fork or puree with a stick blender.
- This puree is an ideal first food for babies.
- You can freeze this puree in ice cube trays and pop the the portions into a ziploc bag.
- Oven roasting the pumpkin brings out the natural sugars in the pumpkin, making it more appealing to babies.
