Slow cooked roast beef recipe
- 1.2kg beef roasting piece (bolar blade or topside)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- Juice of 2 lemons
Preheat the oven to 140°C fan forced or 160°C for a conventional oven.
Mix the olive oil, oregano and lemon juice in a bowl.
Place the beef in an oven bag and pour the mixture over the top.
Seal the bag and roast in an oven tray for 2 hours.
When done, hold the bag over a saucepan and snip the corner, letting all the juices pour into the pan. Reduce this for 5 minutes and pour over the carved roast meat as a sauce.
- I love garlic so I added a crushed clove to the marinade mixture.
- This needs a few delicious vegetable side dishes to accompany it. I used Italian-style potatoes and beans.
