Iced coffee syrup recipe

Iced coffee is fantastic on a hot day. This syrup is just like the ones in coffee shops, only now you can have it at home. Find more on Kidspot New Zealand.



  • 2 cups ground coffee
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 x 375g tin condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract


In a jug, stir the ground coffee and cold water together and leave overnight. Pour through a coffee filter or a piece of cheesecloth to filter the grounds out.

Mix with condensed milk and vanilla extract and store in a sealed bottle in the refrigerator.

To serve, fill a tall glass to the brim with ice and pour the coffee syrup to fill one-third of the glass and top with ice-cold milk.


  • Top it off with a big scoop of vanilla ice-cream.
  • If you are not a fan of vanilla you can just leave this out of the recipe.
