French onion dip and crudites recipe

These little cups are perfect for children’s parties and can be easily made ahead. This is an attractive way to serve dip and veggies. Find more on Kidspot New Zealand.



  • 2 x 200g light sour cream
  • 4 tbsp French onion soup mix
  • 4 large carrots
  • 4 celery sticks
  • 12 clear plastic cups


Peel and cut the carrots in even sized sticks that are 1cm taller than the lip of the cups. Destring and cut the celery sticks to the same length as the carrots.

In a bowl, whisk together the light sour cream and French onion soup mix until well combined.

Spoon the dip mixture evenly between the 12 cups. Divide the carrots and celery sticks evenly between the cups and serve.



  • I like to wash and soak my veggies in iced water for this recipe so they are crisp before they are popped into the dip.
  • You could substitute your favourite dip in this recipe.
