Bean, pea and potato puree recipe

Vegetable purees are great first foods when introducing solid foods to your baby. Try this homemade bean, pea and potato puree baby food recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup green beans
  • 1/2 cup of fresh peas, shelled (or frozen peas)
  • 1 small potato

Method:

Wash and cut the ends off the beans, then cut into 2cm long pieces.

Peel and chop the potato.

Bring a small saucepan of water to boil on a stove. Add  peas, beans and potato and boil for around 10 minutes, or until potatoes are soft.

Puree together in a blender until smooth.

Wash and cut the ends of the beans and cut into 2cm long pieces.

Peel and chop the potato.

Place all vegetables in a microwave-safe container and cover with plastic wrap, leaving one corner uncovered to let steam escape.

Cook on HIGH for 3 minutes. Stir and cook again for 2 more minutes until potatoes are soft.

Puree together in a blender until smooth.

Notes:

  • Can be frozen for up to six weeks, but only if fresh peas were used. Otherwise refrigerate and eat within two days.
